Bigfoot Enhanced Sense Perception – It’s In Their Hair!

How does Bigfoot avoid us so well? Possibly they’re blessed with extra perceptive powers through their hair!

This week information about a hair study done during the Vietnam War era was made public. The military sought out Native Americans with “outstanding, almost supernatural tracking skills”. These men were recruited into the service and then failed to perform as spectacularly as they did previously.

Through extensive testing the military learned they lost their extraordinary skills and senses because their long hair was cut off. More trackers were recruited, some who were allowed to keep their long hair, and others who had it cut. The long haired trackers continued to do well in all situations set up to test their tracking and reaction abilities.

From the article:

“When questioned about their failure to perform as expected, the older recruits replied consistently that when they received their required military haircuts, they could no longer ‘sense’ the enemy, they could no longer access a ‘sixth sense’, their ‘intuition’ no longer was reliable, they couldn’t ‘read’ subtle signs as well or access subtle extrasensory information.

So the testing institute recruited more Indian trackers, let them keep their long hair, and tested them in multiple areas. Then they would pair two men together who had received the same scores on all the tests. They would let one man in the pair keep his hair long, and gave the other man a military haircut. Then the two men retook the tests.

Time after time the man with long hair kept making high scores. Time after time, the man with the short hair failed the tests in which he had previously scored high scores.”

If one can trust this information it is clear that a Bigfoot, whose hair has never been cut, who has hair all over his body, is sure to have sensory perceptions that are much stronger than what we human beings possess. This accounts for their abilities to sense our presence, and to know when to hide from us. This may also be part of their reported psychic abilities including the way they can influence our own thoughts, instill fear, or cause us to freeze up.

I’d like to hear your thoughts on these ideas. Long hair – is it empowering? Is it part of our nervous system? What do you think?

  1. On this subject of hair /six senses, I know it true. I have been in the woods all my life. Cub scout to Eagle Scout, Police Office and have hunted man! But I have always had the extra sense when someone or something is watching, following, or tracking me.
These creature is very smart!! Very Smart. But so far no threat to us. It always walk parallel then, just break off.
My brother has the same senses of awareness in or out the Woods. We have been followed by this creature many times on our land in Texas….

  2. I agree. We were born with hair to grow in appropriate areas, for the sensing of particulars. I’m sure they’re out there. But, why would they want to know us?

  3. This is indeed an interesting site that I will have to explore a bit when I have more time.
Good to see you in the A to Z Challenge. I’ll be interested to see what you do.

  4. Often when people have the feeling of being watched they describe the hair standing up on the back of their neck. It stands to reason that we do sense a presence with our hair.

  5. The reason no one has ever caught or got definitive proof? Try reading the bible and maybe you would find out what Bigfoot really is.

  6. The hypothesis is not new, and would be almost impossible to prove via scientific method. You need a subject first.

One reason they “seem” to know humans are around are two fold. First, when / if you camp, you can certainly hear a vehicle comming, and with headlights, road and engine noise they flee to a safe distance, just like most mammals move into a comfort zone. Some call it the Goldielock zone, not too close, not too far to determine threat, monitor and observe. I.e.. Mountain Lions and deer.
Second, they have cryptic camouflage, the color(s) blend into surroundings and the hair breaks up outlines and when we humans walk, we tend to look down, then up quickly, then back down. We are only scanning the environment to ensure we “know” where we are stepping or traveling. We rarely observe above, left and right. This is a more feasible and observable method we can control and it is basic.
These TV shows violate both the above. For instance, camera crews, 10 vehicles on a night search, lights, the noise of walking with hard soled shoes. Just sayin

  7. the consept of the hair length hightening the awareness of bigfoot… the creature tellaconetic tka is exstreamly aware can project as well as recieve… note the rock throwing is mearly a mesure to displace the atention of someone so as a juvinal may excape without detection… however im sure other times as a warning of personal imposing on there teretory… i know from personal experance that they can project dehabillatateing fear to forbid presueance.

  8. Now casting – Males/mid-20’s – late 30’s/All Races who are enthusiasts or experts in the field of the unexplained world of mysterious animals like Big Foot (Yeti), the chupacabra and unicorns. This show is for major cable and is currently being cast nationwide. We are looking for an outspoken authority and/or someone whose only expertise is their belief in the unknown (cryptids, supernatural, aliens, mutant species, etc.), or a dynamic duo with opposing views (skeptic/believer). If this is you, or you know of anyone who would be great for TV, please contact us immediately via jraines-at-grbtv.com – thank you.

  9. I hope to come to Happy Camp in the spring with the new 49ers. I hope to see and perhaps photograph a bigfoot.
I have seen their tracks in N.H. and I know quite well, 3 people that have seen them, one of them twice.
I believe the sasquatch is paranormal, thus the reason they avoid us so easily. It would take too much space to tell you why but they are out there.

  10. Hair is sensitive to static electricity.
The subtle energy fields that surround living things are sure to register on another living being from a considerable distance.
just a thought. hmm pass me the shaver

  11. No wonder when my son, who was standing behind me, spotted a large creature get up on to legs a walk away, I didn’t sense it, male pattern baldness.

  12. This is an interesting discussion — the native Americans I know and work with (the Miwok and Maidu) certainly have great power emanating from their wonderful hair and far more intuitive and sensitive to stimuli than the white folk I know. I find it interesting that we tend to think of hair as dead cells — but that as Susie and Cazza mentioned, Samson was lored to derive power from his flowing locks. I’m also reminded of the dread lock, as a totemic symbol of strength amongst the rastafari. The old man of the mountains in the film “Rockers” surely has done some squatting. Check out this video and watch as the Rasta Shaman and his hair blow our minds with their wisdom.

  13. If any of this premise is true, and the Sasquatch’s longer hair is supposed to give it some kind of neurological heads-up in situations of perceived danger – – it surely did not work for the Erickson “Sleeping Sasquatch ” did it? – that alleged Bigfoot just laid there sleeping soundly and allowed the camera person to approach it with a movie camera rolling. That is not the behavior one would expect, is it? Sleeping out in the open like that is also not a known behavior of the Sasquatch. I’m having a hard time believing that is a Sasquatch, it’s probably a pile of some kind of manufactured fabric. I’m not usually that skeptical, but the behavior is certainly not typical. But then, what is?

  14. how about the extra hair. plus maybe a stronger nose than humans(half ape) plus great eyesight. and let’s not forget the ears. smell plus hearing will do the humans in every time! meaning you can’t sneak up on these beautiful giants. they do the sneaking. also it helps the sasquatch when us stupid humans light fires, bring are noisy dogs, and drunk friends into his neighborhood. last thing to ponder! i notice (most of the time) strangers, cars, loose dogs in my neighborhood so why wouldn’t the sasquatch. right?

  15. Hi,
I have to do a paper on Bigfoot in 5th grade.
So, is heshe real ? Can you email me the anwers also your name I will put this on my paper.
Hey have you every seen Bigfoot ?
    Thank You

  16. The first thing that came to my mind after reading this was something I saw about Bloodhound dogs.

    Here’s the jist of it:

‘A bloodhound’s outward appearance also adds to its tracking ability. Loose, wrinkled skin around the face helps trap scent particles and long, drooping ears that drag on the ground collect odors and sweep them into the nostril area. ‘

Long hair could act they way those droopy ears do, by collect scent. Or, it could work more like the way the fine hair on Bee’s legs do when they collect pollen.

Or….Bigfoot could just be so attuned to his or her environment that anything out of place would catch their attention, like a deer would.

  17. I just think that it is possible that there are species of animals out there that we know nothing about. Just because we can’t pin it down with science at the moment doesn’t mean they don’t exist. I like to keep an open mind. I think to dismiss it is rather ignorant.

  18. I don’t know if it is hair or just a thought process? I have been able to tell if something is following me and the presence of humans or animals nearby. I think it is a type of “conditioning” in a environment. I have spent former military and law enforcement days tracking humans and animals as a hunter. I have military training and distant native american heritage so that may or may not be an issued?? I have sensed something unusual following me and a presence at least three different times in the Cascade mountains of Washington state. It was not an animal maybe something else?? It was larger than myself (I am 6’2″, 240 lbs) and whatever it was seemed very curious of my presence??

  19. Very good article Linda. I agree with it 100%. Anybody that studies them knows they have heightened senses. So sure why can’t it be in there hair.
